Don’t get mad – get even.

Are you having your sign stolen?  Are you being honked at for your Obama sticker?  Are you depressed that Mitt Romney is gaining in the polls?  Do something about it.  Volunteer.  Early Vote in Texas starts on OCTOBER 22 – just over 10 days from now.  This is the most critical time period in the campaigns.  Once someone has voted, the opportunity is lost.

I hope that everyone reading this e-mail will be helping out on Election Day.  We need to ensure that we have Democrats at every polling location.  If you are not working at a polling location, please help out your favorite candidate.  Each campaign will need poll greeters and other volunteers on Election Day to help turnout their vote.  Contact Michael McPhail at the Dallas County Democratic Party office if you wish to work the election and have not been contacted.

Northern Dallas County is ground zero in the race to pick up seats in the Texas State House.  There are 4 seats in our area that have been targeted by the HDCC.  Unless we do something about the Republican stranglehold on the state house, we will continue to see our public schools gutted of funding, state college tuition to be out of the reach of the middle class, poor women to lose access to healthcare and continued efforts in voter suppression.  These races can be won or lost by as little as 10 votes.

Please communicate any volunteer opportunities to us no later than Wednesday of next week.

SATURDAY OCTOBER 13

THURSDAY OCTOBER 18

1.    Phone bank with the Far North Dallas Democrats 5:30 – 7:30 PM. We will be calling Democrats in North Dallas.  We meet at Sonny Bryan’s in Richardson in the Private Dining room. 1251 West Campbell Road.  Meeting featuring Cal Jilson starts at 7:30 PM. Phone bankers will have the opportunity to win tickets to the Fish Fry on Friday night.

On Saturday and Sunday October 20 and 21 will be Mega walks in House Districts 102, 107 and 114.  This will be a big push for Rich Hancock, Robert Miklos and Carol Kent prior to early vote.   Please plan on attending.
